New Delhi, January 1, : .The Border Security Force (BSF), which was based in New Delhi on Saturday, announced that Tripura’s India-Bangladesh Border will be completely fenced by 2022.
This is to provide full security.According to Sushanta Nath, the Inspector General of BSF (Inspector General), more than 80 percent of fencing work at the 856km India-Bangladesh border in Tripura was completed.
He stated that Tripura’s eastern sectors had seen substantial fencing work last year, and 31km of porous work was completed on a priority schedule.Single row fencing is gaining momentum and 10 km were fenced last year.
Nath stated that floodlights are an integral part of fencing.
He said, “We hope to complete fencing and set up floodlights along all the stretch of India-Bangladesh state border by 2022.”
He stated that 218 individuals were arrested last year for snatching over the international frontier.Contraband goods worth Rs 35.64 million have also been confiscated.
Two militants of National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT), a proscribed group, surrendered on Saturday to the BSF IG.One of them also took up arms training in Bangladesh.
