Police on Wednesday made house arrests of key leaders of the Congress party.The decision has taken the police to arise when the Congress calls for protest shows.
Several leaders, including TPCC chief Revanth Reddy, Bhuvanagiri MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, former ministers Shabbir Ali and Jeevan Reddy, were arrested by the police.Police are making house arrests of Congress leaders and DCC presidents.Some are being shifted to police stations.
The Congress party on Tuesday lodged a complaint with the police protesting the remarks made by the Assam CM against top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
However, the police did not respond to this.The T Congress called for raiding the offices of the district SPs and the respective police commissionrates.
Earlier, police made house arrests of key Congress leaders.
Against this backdrop, set up barricades around the TPCC chief Revanth Reddy’s house and heavily deployed police.
Rewanth at the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy at the Rachakonda Commissionerate decided to go on a dharna.Former minister Shabbir Ali was placed under house arrest by police at his residence in Jubilee Hills as he tried to flee to Kamareddy.
