A copy of the lookout notice together with the photograph of Bhattacharya along with the details of the case, has been sent to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to be distributed in various international airports in the country.

Similar alerts were issued to officials who oversee the border crossings and various sea-ports of the nation.

The Customs and Immigration department have been informed.

“For the past 10 days, our police are in desperate search of Bhattacharya who did not respond to the summons that we sent out and other agencies.

He is not present at his Kolkata residence or at his ancestral home in Nadia district. The phone is also turned off. Therefore, we suspect he could be trying to get out of the country, and we have issued a lookout warning,” a CBI official stated.

Bhattacharya was removed from the position of WBBPE President in response to an order by the Calcutta High Court, which also ordered an CBI investigation into the main teacher recruitment scam.

Then the CBI involved in the ED in the investigation to examine the possibility of a money trail.

The high court also ordered the immediate the cancellation of the selection of 269 applicants as primary teachers.

They also noted that these applicants were hired even though they did not pass in the exam and some of them didn’t have to take the exam.

The court also stated that the agency’s sleuths who are investigating the case cannot be transferred until the time the investigation is concluded.

On the 16th of August giving a verdict on the end of the service of an elementary teacher 4 months after the date of his appointment, the court mentioned Bhattacharya in its decision.

“Probably the litigant didn’t pay the money to Manik Bhattacharya, and his job was ended.

West Bengal has become such a state that nobody can secure or even keep an official position in the state government without having to pay a penny,” the court observed.
