Panaji 27 August : The Goa Congress on Saturday demanded that the BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s death case be transferred to the CBI.At present police from the Goa Police are investigating the case.
Calangute MLA Michael Lobo’s response was a result of Goa police on Friday detained Sudhir Sangwan (Phogat’s PA) along with Sukwinder Singh in connection with the murder of Phogat who was also a TikTok celebrity.
“I am in agreement with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who has said that he is prepared to conduct an CBI investigation in this matter.
The crime may have occurred in Anjuna (Goa), but the real story is in Haryana,” he declared.
Lobo said that even though Goa police have arrested two people, should anyone else be associated in the crime he ought to be brought to justice.
“There is the need for the need for a CBI investigation.I don’t believe the Goa police will reach an end-to-end conclusion.
The investigation can’t be conducted by the police in Anjuna, as they aren’t sure of what they are looking for, Lobo said.
“Also it is recommended to conduct more investigation to determine if the two men who were with (her) were the ones men who were accused or if another person committed the crime.All angles must be examined.The motive for the crime is in Haryana.
It appears that the majority of people involved were from Haryana.Let the investigation begin in Haryana,” Lobo asserted.
These events, he said, bring negative publicity to Goa, the Goa state.of Goa.”Police investigate the crime and then the case is forgotten and the investigation ceases.However, these cases should be fully investigated by the CBI.It is necessary to look into the matter by the CBI from Haryana.
“We are discussing the possibility of taking Goa into the next stage of tourism, but this will not be possible if the security of tourists isn’t secured, he said.
Phogat was in Goa on the 22nd of August.He was staying in the hotel in Anjuna.
