Perth 27 August : Tall Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has signed up to play for the Perth Scorchers in the next season of the Big Bash League (BBL) which will give a massive boost to the team in the lead-up to of the 12th season of the highly lucrative T20 tournament.
The 23-year-old Green is expected to be in the lineup for the Scorchers their last six matches of the season after the end of the New Year’s Day Test against South Africa at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), according to an article in cricket.com.au.

Green is set to return to the Scorchers team following the BBL-9 season, which was when he made his debut on the international scene and became a key element of Australia’s Test squad.Green has swiftly developed his game for the three formats, has recently impressed during the ODI tour of Pakistan as well as Sri Lanka, and made his T20 debut in the national colours in Pakistan in April.

The youngster is joining Test teammates David Warner (Sydney Thunder), Marnus Labuschagne (Brisbane Heat) and Travis Head (Adelaide Strikers) in signing BBL contracts this month.

Usman Khawaja (Brisbane Heat), Alex Carey (Adelaide Strikers), Mitch Swepson (Brisbane Heat) and Nathan Lyon (Sydney Sixers) had already signed with their respective clubs for BBL-12.

Scorchers announced in an announcement on Saturday Green is expected to be available during the second portion of BBL-12 in the wake of the third Test match against South Africa (January 4-8).

Green’s ability to generate a significant bounce from a long distance is expected to work well on the fast and hard surface at Optus Stadium, while he is also a risky hitter in those conditions.The Perth-based player’s recruitment round out the local group of players with the three remaining spots on the list to be filled by foreign players in the BBL-12 Draft on Sunday.
