Telangana : BRS leaders waiting for MLC Renominations

Former BRS MLCs are pinning hopes on their renomination from the erstwhile Nizamabad district.Currently, Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha is the only MLC from the party representing the district.Former MLCs Akula Lalitha, V.G.Goud and D.Rajeshwar Rao completed their tenure but did not get the extension.

The Nizamabad district is known for the highest number of MLCs represented from the district during the Congress regime.Senior leaders D.Srinivas, Mohammad Ali Shabbir, Akula Lalitha, D.Rajeshwar Rao, V.G.Goud, Arikela Narsa Reddy, and B.Mohan Reddy served as MLCs from the district.MLC Akula Lalitha joined the ruling BRS party from Congress, but she did not get a second term as MLC.

Instead of the MLC post, Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao nominated Akula Lalitha as the chairperson of Telangana state women’s cooperative development corporation.The supporters of Lalitha are hoping that she may get an MLA ticket for the upcoming Assembly elections.V.G.Goud also switched over his loyalties from Telugu Desam to BRS as MLC.He also got a second term in the BRS party.Recently, his term was completed and he is hopeful that the CM may give another chance for him.

D.Rajeshwar Rao, who had served as MLC in Congress regime, joined the BRS party wherein he got the MLC chance in a hat trick move.Rajeshwar, who has a strong hold in Jukkal and Nizamabad urban Assembly constituencies and vast relations with various sections of people, is expecting the fourth term from the Governor quota.

BRS party is also thinking that the services of Rajeshwar Rao, who is known as an ‘accomplisher’ of any party task, will be useful for the party in upcoming Assembly elections.He has good backing from the business community in Nizamabad district.
