New Delhi, Aug 25 : The Pegasus panel in the report filed in the Supreme Court said there was no conclusive evidence to prove the existence of Pegasus spyware that infected 29 phones that it scanned.Chief Justice N.V.Ramana read the report of the committee in the courtroom in the open on Thursday.
He said that the committee had suggested amending laws regarding surveillance.
The CJI stated that the committee in its report stated that the phones had been sent to the Pegasus panel, but Pegasus spyware wasn’t discovered.
The report also stated that in five phones, another malware was found, but it is not possible to conclude that the malware was Pegasus’.
The Pegasus panel in its report noted that the Government of India didn’t cooperate in the investigation.
