Mumbai 14 August : Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on Sunday, assigned portfolios to the state’s 20-member Cabinet with allies Bharatiya Janata Party bagging the top portfolios.Shinde will manage Urban Development, IT, GAD, PWD (Public Projects), Transport and other departments, according to an announcement made by the government.
The Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was given the vital portfolios of Home, Finance and Planning, Law and Justice, Water Resources, Energy, Housing and other portfolios.
The long-awaited distribution of portfolios took place just six days after Shinde increased his cabinet by adding 18 ministers with nine each from Shiv Sena Shinde camp as well as BJP although there aren’t women in the cabinet as of now, following Shinde and Fadnavis swore oath on June 30.
