New Delhi, Aug 15 : Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, in the presence of Chief Justice N.V.Ramana on Monday declared that in Parliament, there are many questions addressed at his disposal in the context with the pending of cases and delays in the delivery of justice however, he did not dare to cross the ‘Lakshman’ Rekha’ and stressed that he is a clearly defined job to perform as an intermediary between the judiciary and the executive.Rijiju spoke during the Independence Day celebrations organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).
It was attended by the Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, SCBA president Vikas Singh, Supreme Court judges and the Bar members.of the Bar.
Rijiju stated that in Parliament, MPs often ask him on the reason for the an indefinite delay of cases, and what is the reason for a delay in the execution of justice or justice?’ He said, “I become helpless, I am unable to provide an answer in specific terms.I am a Lakshman Rekha which I do not dare cross.” Rijiju stated that he is able to give statements from his chair, but he doesn’t do that and knows that he must return to the judiciary and talk with the Chief Justice, and engage with judges.
He said it’s easy to make comments about how the executive, legislature and judiciary should do this and how the judiciary could end the pendency of instances in two years.”It is very easy to say until you feel the pain,” said Rijiju.
He claimed that the executive is responsible for greater responsibility, and, without the active role of the government, it’s hard for the judiciary to function in the absence of government.”I have a specific job to perform as an intermediary between the executive and the judiciary,” he said.
The president cited the that the completion of 100 years of freedom in 2047, he said the three organs of the state — the judiciary as well as the legislature and executivemust work in harmony.
He added that a lot of people believe that the judiciary legislature, executive and the judiciary operate in different ways, but in reality they work together as a result of the degree of sensitivity and knowledge, “we seem to work independently”.
Rijiju also said that there’s nothing wrong in someone who is in a constitutional position fighting for the protection of its independence and authority however, at times it is crucial to know what is the background of the opposite of the other side of the fence.
He stated that India is very different, and therefore the challenges are unique.Judges who are able to dispose of forty to fifty cases in the course of a single day is unimaginable and only one other nation can boast the same kind of work burden.
