Thiruvananthapuram 2 September : In the midst of the dispute of the appointment of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s Secretary K.K.Ragesh’s wife Priya Varghese’s alleged back door appointment to Kannur University is yet to get settled, there is new information that State BJP president K.Surendran’s son was allegedly able to secure an appointment at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) which is located here.RGCB is an independent Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India
The Congress and the CPI-M are in the air against this and have demanded an investigation regarding the selection of K.S.Harikrishnan as the Technical Officer of RGCB.
Harikrishnan has an B.Tech in Mechanical engineering.
The allegations have begun to surface fast and thick that the entire procedure of choosing one candidate from a pool of 48 candidates who took the test was speedily moving along as the three-phased process of testing was completed in the blink of an eye and in June, Harikrishnan was appointed.
Kannur CPI-M district secretary M.V.Jayarajan said that this was a serious problem regarding the way in different Central institutions, BJP activists are able to sneak in and thus, an investigation is necessary.
Youth Congress president and three-time legislator Shafi Parambil said: “What’s happening in Kerala is that when Left sympathisers, specifically wives and relatives of CPI-M’s top leaders are offered jobs on the cheap in universities and state-run organizations and the BJP is able to match by filling their ranks in central institutions.”
RGCB officials have stated that the appointment was made just a few months ago and he is currently undergoing training and all of the required procedures were adhered to in the appointmentprocess, noting that the family background of the applicant is not any way considered.
