Jaipur 13 Aug : A third-grade Dalit student who was receiving treatment in an hospital in Ahmedabad after being beaten at the school in Rajasthan’s Jalore district for touching a water tank, died on Saturday.On the 20th of July the boy was bitten by the pot of water that ignited the teacher Chail Singh.
Singh slashed him so violently that his condition became serious according to Devaram the deceased father of the deceased child.
“My son was beaten in the school in the name of casteism.
His health was deteriorating following the thrashing, and we took him to Jalore District Hospital.From there, he was taken to Udaipur.
Because his health did not improve there, we referred him to Ahmedabad just a few days later.He died in the hospital late on Saturday afternoon.” Devaram said.
Initial findings suggest that the ear vein of the child’s ear ruptured in the course of beating.
The incident occurred in Surana village in Jalore district.
Then, shortly after the child died the police arrested Chail Singh the teacher accused of the murder.
The child was in school at Saraswati Vidya Mandir.A committee of inquiry has been established by the Chief Block Education Officer to look into the matter.
Jalore SP Harshvardhan Aggarwal confirmed that a case was recorded under pertinent sections of the IPC and the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
