Bhubaneswar 25 August : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, on Thursday, said the state is working on more playgrounds for schools and also stadiums on block levels to train athletes from childhood.
Patnaik made this statement during an induction session for non-teaching personnel at different public colleges in the state.
A total of 334 new recruits , including 18 teachers of physical education (PETs) have joined the state’s government colleges.
Speaking to the program on a virtual platform the Chief Minister claimed that the government of his has always supported sports to the fullest extent.
In actual fact, Odisha is now a shining spot in the map of sports of the world, he added.
“Recruitment of physical education teachers (PETs) is sure to play a significant role in increasing the enthusiasm of our pupils in sports and will help in the development of more international and national athletes in the state of Indiana,” Patnaik said.
He believed that the PETs would greatly contribute to an optimistic future for students of the state.
He added that the government of the state is taking different initiatives to build an active higher education ecosystem in the state.
In the past few years over 1,000 professors and associate professors, as well as junior lecturers, and assistant professors have been hired in various institutions, both non-government and government.
This has assisted in increasing the ratio of students to teachers in the schools, he pointed out.
The new employees were greeted with a warm welcome.the Chief Minister stated laboratory assistants as well as junior librarians are being named to contribute more to a quality education.
Their work in libraries and laboratories is crucial to create an environment that is conducive to education in establishments, he added.
The 5T mantra is a life-skill that can enable everyone to achieve success in the world, he hoped the new students in the colleges would set models for others by following the 5T ethos of the government of the state.
