Jaipur 8 Aug : Three pilgrims died while four others suffered serious injuries in the stampede that was sparked in the Khatu Shyam temple in Rajasthan’s Sikar on Monday morning.The stampede was reported as 5.00 a.m.at which time the crowd of devotees gathered to celebrate “darshan” to mark the day of Ekadashi.Devotees were waiting in an unending line from late Sunday night, and when the gates of the temple were opened in the early morning, a massive crowd began to break out.
The three victims were women devotees.The corpses of the deceased are placed in the mortuary of Khatushyamji Hospital where post-mortem will be conducted.
The wounded are classified as Shivcharan (50), Manohar (40), Indra Devi (55) of Karnal, Anoji (40) of Alwar.Manohar’s condition was critically ill and was taken to Jaipur.
The the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot condoled the death of the three devotees.He stated, “The death of 3 women devotees as a result of a stampede in Khatushyam Ji’s temple in Sikar is extremely tragic and tragic.
My deepest sympathy is with the family of the deceased.I pray that God provide them with the strength to take this loss, and may the soul of the deceased be at peace in peace.I wish a speedy recovery to the devotees who were injured in the stampede.”
