CJI stated, “As someone who began his professional career in journalism, I understand your struggles and difficulties,” during a keynote speech at the Red Ink Awards 2021.He was recognizing excellence in journalism.

You are constantly working and on the phone for long periods of time.It is hard to find time for family and friends when holidays are rare and distant.Stress can also be a major problem for your family. Also, the wages aren’t very encouraging. He said that women, especially those outside the metro areas, have difficulty gaining a foothold in this profession.”

CJI also stated that soldiers in conflict areas are prepared to take risks.

Regular beats also pose a risk to their safety.

Many of those who hold powerful positions, including bureaucrats and politicians, as well as those with ties to the criminal justice system, are not comfortable speaking with professional journalists. You keep receiving disturbing and unpleasant messages.

It is difficult for families and you to cope with these threats.A worrying trend is the coordinated effort to place journalists in a certain category. He said, “I can only imagine how awful it must be.”

He stressed that it was a very satisfying career. The legal profession is often regarded as a high-ranking profession. The journalist’s role is just as important and an essential pillar of democracy, I am able to confirm that.

A journalist must have strong moral fiber and a moral compass, just like a lawyer. This profession is guided by your conscience.

He noted, too that freedom of press is an important and sacred right inscribed in the Indian Constitution.

Without such freedom, it is impossible to have the discussion and debate necessary for democracy’s growth. He said that there can’t be the information flow that the public needs, which is what democracy requires.”
