Guwahati 26 August : Assam Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Himanta Biwa Sarma on Friday reacted to the resignation of senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad from the party’s grand old days stated that “ultimately only Gandhis will remain in the party, and the rest will be leaving”.
Sarma who was a leader of the Congress, now BJP in a conversation with the media spoke to the media, saying: “What Azad said today is like the issues I raised in my left the party in 2015.
“Everybody is aware that Rahul Gandhi is an untrained and a flimsy and unpredictable person.Congress president Sonia Gandhi is not taking responsibility of the organization.
She is only promoting and promotes her son (Rahul Gandhi).But, these are not worthwhile exercise,” he said.
The Assam Chief Minister stated that Congress members who were loyal to the party are abandoning each day, and the sentiments of the majority of the Congress leaders are the same as the party.
“The way of working of the Congress party is beneficial for the BJP.Rahul Gandhi has been a blessing to BJP.Azad brought up the right issues that are prevalent,” Sarma said.
Ghulam Nabi Azad who was the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and also an ex-Union Minister, on Friday, resigned from all posts in the Congress party and its main membership as expected due to his disagreements with the high command of the party.
Azad is a bit upset after being disregarded for Rajya Sabha re-nomination after he quit as the leader of the Opposition in the Upper House.
He was considered to be one of the leaders with the highest profile of the Congress’ G-23 group that called for radical changes in the Congress.
