New Delhi, Aug 20 : Veteran Indian fast bowler Jhulan Goswami is preparing to quit international cricket at Lord’s after the third and last ODI in the England tour on September 24.
The 39-year-old pacer who was selected in India’s team for three ODIs in England on Friday, will depart the field as the top wicket-taker in women’s internationals with 352 wickets over a variety of all formats.

She had previously missed the trip of Sri Lanka in July which led to speculation about her future in international cricket.

According to an ESPNcricinfo report, Goswami missed out the series due to of health issues.

She recovered her full fitness in mid-July , and was then selected to play in the England tour after a approval by the National Cricket Academy medical staff.

The report also said that the team’s management discussed taking a look to the future and forming an array of fast-bowling youngsters that can be featured in a variety of formats.

It is worth noting that Goswami was last in action for India during the ODI World Cup in New Zealand in March of this year.She hasn’t played T20Is since the year 2018 and played her final Test match in October 2021.

According to an BCCI official the board was keen to give her the “proper goodbye” due to the fact that “Jhulan could not leave the field” after suffering an injury in the side prior to the start of India’s final game of the group against South Africa.

It was reported that Goswami has her options open for participation in the first women’s IPL which is set for the month of March 2023.

The cricketer is in discussions with an men’s IPL team to be a mentor role.In addition, she is expected to be a participant and coach for the Bengal women’s team during the coming domestic season.

Jhulan began her international journey at 19-year-old in March 2002.Over the time of twenty years, she participated in 12 Tests and more than 68 T20 internationals, and 201 ODIs .She has the record for most wickets in ODIs, which is 252 and been a part of in six 50-over World Cups.

India will play three Twenty20Is in England on the 10th, 13th and 15 Then, three ODIs on 18 21 and 24.
