Chandigarh 14 August : The anniversary of the 75th Independence Day, the Punjab government announced on Sunday that it will revive the Shaheed-eAzam Bhagat Singh State Yuva Award that was inactive for a long time.Two youngsters from each district of the state will receive the award.The goal of reviving this award is to help make youth an active participant in the growth of the state in addition to providing them with the necessary tools.The Yuva Bhavan that was built in Chandigarh is being restored and transformed into an institute of excellence.
Sports and Youth Services Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that the government is working to spread the philosophy of Bhagat Singh, and to prepare young people for taking on a the lead in the country.
The award is accompanied by the cash value of 51,000 rupees and comes with a medal, scroll, a blazer , and an official certificate.
The award is presented to two people in the age range of 15-35 years in every district of the state.Youth welfare programs, NCC, NSS, cultural activities, social services and national unity, sports blood donation, awareness of drugs and other harmful substances, academic merit, heroic acts, scouts, and adventures and guiding are the criteria used to award the award.
