Beijing, January 1, 2018 : .Tesla, an Elon Musk-owned electric car company, has increased the cost of rear-wheel drive, also known as the base version, for its Model 3 and Model Y models in China.GizmoChina reports that the official Chinese site of the company has published the prices changes in China.
The rear-wheel drive variant of the Model 3 costs approximately 265,652 Yuan, or roughly $42,000.
This is an approximate increase of 10,000 Yuan (1,575) from the initial price.
The rear-wheel-drive-version of Model Y’s Model Y is now priced at 301,840 Yuan, or roughly $47,560.
This price is approximately 21,000 Yuan, which is about $3,320 more than its previous tag.
Model Y has a range of 545km on a single charge, and a maximum speed of 217 km/h.The Model Y can accelerate to speeds of 100-100 km/h within 6.9 seconds.
The Model 3 by the US auto giant offers a top speed at 225 km/h and a range of up to 556 kilometers on one full charge.In just 6.9 seconds, it can travel from 0 to 100 km/h.
Although the official cause of the increase in price is not known at this time, it could be related to ongoing shortages, according to the report.
