Tripoli (IANS 21 Nov 2001) The International Organization for Migration has reported that more than 75 illegal migrants drowned while trying to reach Europe at sea.According to fifteen survivors who were rescued from Libya by fishermen, more than 75 migrants drowned Wednesday following their departure.
IOM said that this latest tragedy has increased the death toll in Central Mediterranean by more than 1,300.
Since the 2011 fall of Muammar Gaddafi, Libya has experienced insecurity and chaos.
This makes Libya a popular destination for illegal migrants who wish to cross the Mediterranean Sea into Europe.
