Meta warned on 200 millimeters of content on Facebook in Q2

New Delhi, Aug 26 : Meta displayed warnings on more than 200 million unique bits of material on Facebook (including Re-Shares) worldwide in the period between April and June (Q2) that were based on more than 130,000 debunking pieces that were written by fact-checking partners.
The company claimed that it currently has over 90 fact-checking partner around the globe who look over and rate the accuracy of viral incorrect information.

“We are making strides in reducing the frequency of content that is threatening or harassing which now has 8-9 views per 10,000 views on Facebook as well as four to five views for every 10,000 users on Instagram,” it said in its enforcement of community standards report (CSER).

Concerning hateful content on Facebook the frequency was two per 10,000.

“We did something about 13.5 million pieces of it in Q2, up from 15.1 million pieces in Q1” said the social media network.

The company announced it’s independent Oversight Board will soon issue an entirely new type of binding judgment in cases which will determine whether or not it is appropriate to apply warning screens to certain portions of content.

“While the board has been able to take the law to remove or remove parts of content This expansion will further empower them through giving them greater control on how content is displayed and is distributed on our various platforms.” added Meta.

From June 2021 until June 2022 Meta reported 68 newsworthiness allowances of which 13 (20 percent) of those were issued for posts by politicians.

In a separate , widely viewed report on content (WVCR) for the 2nd quarter of 2022, Meta said it removed more than 500 fake and unauthentic accounts.

Pages and Groups run by foreign spammers that target US viewers.
