Philippines allows fully-vaccinated foreigners to enter

Manila, November 19, : , The Philippines will allow fully-vaccinated tourists to enter the country from more than 40 countries or regions that are “green” and/or Covid-19-low-risk, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Ngrales announced Friday.

He said that the government is currently finalising guidelines and the date for reopening.

A virtual conference was held by him to explain that his country’s decision to open up its shores to tourists visiting safe areas is part of their “calibrated economic reopening”.

Nograles stated that the tourism industry is a significant contributor to the national economy and that allowing tourists from abroad will aid in the recovery of the country after the pandemic.

On Friday, the Philippines Department of Health announced 1,485 Covid-19 new infections.

This brings the total number of cases confirmed in Southeast Asia to 2,823,210.

According to the health department, 277 additional people were also killed, taking the death toll in this country to 46,698.

The Philippines has more than 22,000,000 people who have been tested since the pandemic.It has a population of around 110million.
