Former minister and YSR Congress Party leader Perni Nani on Sunday refuted the allegations of BJP national president JP Nadda who said that the YCP government is highly corrupt and several other scams in Andhra Pradesh.
Nadda made some serious remarks against the YCP government during his meeting in Tirupati, held marking the completion of nine years of the BJP government at the Centre.
Nani said that it was the BJP which was involved in a land scam. There must be land scam in the BJP’s Vizag steel plant divestment plan.
That party might be planning to sell off the VSP just to benefit from the valuable land of the VSP.Who will answer this? Will they answer it in Telugu or in Hindi, he asked.
In the past, the BJP alleged that former CM and TDP supremo N.Chandrababu Naidu embezzled huge amounts of funds sanctioned by the Centre for building Amaravati but now, the party says its supports Amaravati. What has happened behind the doors in darkness, asked Perni Nani.
The former minister claimed that the YCP government had distributed lakhs of crores of rupees to the poor and underprivileged in the name of several schemes during the last four years.
“How can you say the government is involved in scams when we distributed so much through direct benefit transfer,” he said.
The former minister also ridiculed the BJP government at the Centre for trying to shield several corrupt and criminal politicians after they joined their party.
Once these politicians join the BJP, all their CBI cases and court hearings are getting wiped off, he said.
Countering Nadda’s statements that the AP completely plunged into lawlessness, Nani said that people know how violence was being propagated in states ruled by the BJP like in the North East (Manipur) and Madhya Pradesh.
How can they make such statements? It is like a cat closing its eyes and thinking that people are not looking at it and licking off the milk surreptiously, he pointed out.
Nani also said that the people in Karnataka had taught a lesson to the BJP by defeating its corrupt government there, Nani observed that the BJP had become TJP in Andhra Pradesh (with some TDP Rajya Sabha members crossing the floor to join BJP).Even if it tried its best, the BJP would never be able to win even one seat in Andhra Pradesh, he stated.
