Bhavnagar (Gujarat), Sep 4 : Bharatiya Janata Party state unit president C.R.Patil has clarified to party’s leaders and staff not to try to influence him to get tickets for the Assembly elections, since the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will decide on the candidates.’ “For the Assembly elections Both are aware about every candidate.I do not have any responsibility however, if you contact me and tell me about your hopes I will assume the role of messenger and communicate your desires to the PM as well as the HM,” said Patil.
He made the statement in a speech to leaders and workers of the party in Bhavnagar city on Saturday night as part of his “One Day One District” program.
He also urged leaders and workers to accept any decision taken by the highest leadership.
Joking Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s claim the AAP will win seven of 12 Assembly seats in Surat city, Patil said, “First create an account with winning one Assembly seat, then make huge claims.”
In comparing the BJP cadre with other party members, Patil said, “BJP employees are disciplined and always insist on work, not positions in the party, whereas in other political parties, leaders and workers struggle for positions, and are not dedicated to the party or the public.”
