Chennai, December 29, : , The Sri Perumbudur facility at Foxconn’s technical company Foxconn has been placed on probation following 250 cases of food poisoning among its female employees.Apple stated Wednesday that it would make sure that Foxconn facilities are up to standard before it reopens.
It also stated that suppliers are held accountable for maintaining the highest industry standards.
After 250 employees of Foxconn fell ill from food poisoning at Sri Perumbudur, there were demonstrations.
Foxconn, however, announced Wednesday that it is restructuring its local management team.It also stated that they were taking immediate measures to improve facilities.
Foxconn also stated that they will make sure that the company maintains required standards.
Apple stated that independent auditors have been sent to inspect Foxconn’s dormitory facilities after residents complained about the conditions.
It also stated that the company was working closely with the supplier to improve living conditions and the facilities in the dormitories.The company also stated that it will take corrective action as soon as possible in its supplier company.
