The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of Chandrababu Naidu’s bail plea in the Skill Development Scam case. His lawyer, Siddhartha Luthra, asked for temporary release based on Naidu’s health.
They pointed out that others involved in the case had already been granted bail.
Additionally, they highlighted that there had been minimal progress in the investigation for over a month.
In light of these factors, they urged the court to consider Naidu’s health and grant him temporary release.
The government’s representative requested more time until noon to gather updated information about Naidu’s health.
Following further deliberations in the afternoon, the court decided to transfer the inquiry to a different bench, citing the upcoming holidays as a factor.
In addition, a petition about Naidu’s health was filed in the High Court.
The judge stated that the new bench would handle the inquiry for this as well. The High Court directed the jail authorities to promptly provide Naidu’s health report to the new bench.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved its verdict on a plea by former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for quashing of a FIR, in the skill development scam case. However, despite fervent appeals on behalf of the TDP president, the court declined to grant interim bail.
