Srinagar (IANS 20/11/20) – The new District Commander for the proscribed terrorist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen HM (HM) Mudasir Wagay died in a Kulgam confrontation on Saturday, officials stated. Jammu and Kashmir Police stated that they were responding to a particular input about terrorists being present in Ashmuji, district Kulgam.
A joint search and cordon was established by Police and army’s 18Bn and 9 RR.
As soon as they realized the existence of terrorists, they had ample opportunity to surrender.Instead, they began firing on search party personnel indiscriminately.Joint parties responsible for ensuring civilian safety rescued civilians and moved them to safer areas.
An encounter was established after the fire was set.
The incident ended with the death of the newly-appointed district commander for the proscribed terror group HM.His body was retrieved from where it happened.Police identified him as Mudasir Wagay (son of Jamal Wagay) and Malwan Kulgam resident.”
According to police records, Mudasir, a terrorist killed by the government was an A+ categorized terrorist who was active from 2018 and was on the most wanted terrorists list.
He was part of terror groups that were involved in terrorist attacks on civilians and security forces.Police said that he was involved in the murder of Gh Hassan Lone, a political worker in Devsar in Kulgam.”
Terrorists took the Insas rifle from the terrorist who was killed.It is identical to the one that terrorists stole in 2017 at Pombay, DH Pora as part of an attack against a bank vehicle.
The site of the encounter contained incriminating material, ammunition and arms including an Insas rifle.
For further investigation, all materials recovered have been entered into the case files.The relevant sections of the law have been registered by police and an investigation has begun.
