Since April 11, the TLP leader was in detention.According to reports, his release was a result of the agreement between Pakistan and the TLP following recent sit-ins.

The Pakistani government announced on October 31 that it had reached an agreement with Tehreek-eLabbaik Pakistan (TLP), following the most recent round of dialogue.

After two weeks of fighting, at most seven officers were killed and many others injured in clashes.

The federal cabinet of Pakistan reversed their earlier decision to declare the TLP an ‘interdicted’ organization under Pakistan’s antiterrorism law on November 7.It had promised that it would adhere to the Constitution and laws of Pakistan.

The Punjab government took Rizvi’s name off of the fourth Schedule in the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 four days later.
