New Delhi, Nov 19, : .Pakistan decided to lift its mutually agreed limit of 10 days in advance notification before Sikh pilgrims arrive at Kartarpur gurdwara.
Geo News reported that this was based on sources.
According to the report, sources claimed that Pakistan took the decision because it respected the religious feelings of Sikh pilgrims in light of India’s final-minute decision not to open Kartarpur Corridor. This would likely cause inconvenience for worshippers.
The report said that Pakistan had granted a temporary relaxation until November 30, and the government expects India to follow the agreement for tourists from December 1.
India and Pakistan must process Sikh pilgrimage lists 10 days prior to their arrival in Kartarpur. This is to ensure that all necessary procedures are completed.
On Wednesday, Kartarpur Corridor was reopened. It links Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Pakistan, where Guru Nanak Dev’s final resting place, with Dera Baba Nanak shrine, Gurdaspur district.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Pilgrimage to Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara was halted in March 2020.
According to the report, thousands of Sikh pilgrims from India have crossed the Pakistani border since Wednesday in order to commemorate the anniversary of their founder’s birth.
