New Delhi, Aug 20 : Indian Youth Congress (IYC) will organize an event to mark the celebration of “Sadbhavna Day,” the 78th birthday anniversary of the late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, at the Talkatora Stadium in the national capital on Saturday.IYC President Srinivas B.V.said, “Rajiv Gandhi was the architect of modern India who was instrumental in creating an independent and self-sufficient India.The country continues to reap the rewards of his dream.The foresight of his father that placed India in the group of modern, strong nations.”
The Congress youth wing, that will pay tribute to the achievements of the former Prime Minister during the event it will call him”the “architect of Digital India” and the “father of information technology and the telecommunication revolution”.
The Youth Congress will also highlight the work of the former prime minister in the area of technology and science, as well as his efforts in bringing about a revolution in computing in the nation.
“Rajiv Gandhi had increased the strength of the Panchayati Raj system in the country.He believed that when the panchayat system is not strong, democracy won’t get to the ground,” Srinivas said.
The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas were put in the year 2000 with the notion that kids who live in the villages must receive an education of the highest quality, he said.
In the present more than 1.8 million students are studying in 551 Navodaya Vidyalayas which have opened in the country.
