New Delhi, December 13, 2013 : .Wipro, an IT company, has selected Oracle Cloud as its digital partner to digitize its air cargo processes.
This is in response to growing demand for fast cargo transport services.Wipro will use the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), to power its Cargo Reservations, Operations, Accounting, and Management Information System (CROAMIS).
This allows organisations to modernise faster and more cost-effectively.
The supply chain has seen significant changes, especially in important industries like pharma and electronic commerce, where goods must be transported quickly around the globe.
Gopi Krishnan Vice President and managing partner, Domain and Consulting Services Consumer Sector at Wipro stated that while air cargo has gained share, this also means the industry must fast-track modernisation using cloud and other technologies.
Wipro leverages six continents’ worth of experience and more than 220,000 people to offer a range of services that help clients adapt to digital changes.
With Oracle Cloud, Wipro will help organisations more quickly and easily automate the complete air cargo lifecycle spanning.
Wipro’s ‘CROAMIS’ application will be available in the Oracle Cloud Marketplace by the end of this month.
“Migrating its business-critical ‘CROAMIS’ application to ‘Exadata Cloud Service’ and ‘Database Cloud Service’ using OCI’s flexible compute capabilities, will enable Wipro to achieve levels of performance and economics that exceed that of any other cloud platform,” said Hwa Cheong Wong, VP-ISV, JAPAC, Oracle.
