Mumbai 8th August : Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal who kicked off the shooting of the film “SamBahadur” with the team on Monday, believes that there’s plenty to gain from his role as the title character of the greatest Indian war hero and the first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
Sam Manekshaw’s Army career spans five wars and four decades.

He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal.He also won his victory in the military in the war of 1971 resulted in the establishment of Bangladesh.

Speaking at the time of beginning the film’s shooting, Vicky, who will portray the character of the title stated: “I am fortunate to play the part of an actual patriot and hero who is remembered and admired for his contribution to our nation.

“There is lots to learn and learn acting.

Given the amount of preparation and effort the entire team have put in.I am sure that the viewers will be thrilled to see Sam’s captivating journey to create India what it is today.”

The producers of the film released a special video on Monday that shows glimpses of Vicky as Sam Bahadur along with his co-stars, Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

This video demonstrates the dedication to bring the character to life From Vicky’s stunning transformation into Sam Bahadur and their table reading sessions to Meghna Gulzar and her team enthusiastically reimagining the authentic depiction of the characters in their reading sessions as well as preparations for shooting.

In addition to Vicky The film also includes Fatima Sana Shaikh, who plays the late Premier Minister Indira Gandhi, and her co-star in “Dangal” Sanya Malhotra, who plays Manekshaw’s wife.

For Fatima, “it’s a huge honour to be part of this inspiring tale of one of the most admired heroes of war of our country”.

She hopes that people who’ve not had the pleasure of hearing of Sam Manekshaw will remember his name forever after watching “Sam Bahadur”.
