Kabul, November 18, : , The Taliban-led Government in Afghanistan signed deals with three major aid agencies to help hundreds of thousands of families displaced ahead of winter.
According to Xinhua, Wednesday’s statement by the Ministry of Refugee Affairs stated that three Memorandums of understanding were signed with ACTED Afghanistan, Organization for Relief Development, and International Rescue Committee.
According to the statement, the total budget of the three aid agencies is more than $9,000,000.This money will be used for aiding war-displaced families.
The UN OCHA reports that 667,903 Afghans fled their homes because of conflict between January 1, and October 18, this year.
In total, 33 of the 34 provinces experienced some form of forced displacement.
The UN Refugee Agency estimates that there are approximately 2.9 million internally displaced people in the country as of 2020.
