IOM: More than 1mn Afghans are returning from Iran and Pakistan this year.

Kabul, November 19 : More than 1,000,000 Afghan refugees returned to Afghanistan or were deported from Iran and Pakistan since the start of the year according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM)The UN agency took to Twitter and stated: "Undocumented.

As other UN agencies and aid organizations race against the clock to provide life-saving supplies and aid to Afghans in crisis, IOM made its announcement.The UNHCR states that Afghans are the most displaced people in the world.There are approximately 2.6 million Afghan refugees worldwide, with 2.2 million of them being registered in Iran or Pakistan.Another 3.5 Million people have been internally displaced after fleeing their homelands in search of refuge.The rapidly changing security environment in 2021 will lead to more people fleeing.
