Mother Dairy raises milk prices by Rs 2 per litre on every variant

New Delhi, Aug 16 : Following Amul another major dairy company, Mother Dairy raised its liquid milk prices by Rs 2 a litre with effective from Wednesday (August 17).The price increase will be effective to all milk varieties.
A Mother Dairy spokesperson said that the company has experienced an increase in various input costs that have increased by multiple times over the past five months.”For instance the prices for farm products of raw milk have increased by 10 to 11 percent in the period.The cost of fodder and feed has also seen an increase in the same period due to the extreme heat that was observed earlier in the country, and also due to the fact of the prolonged summer,” it said.

The increase in prices for farms is being passed on to consumers, thus protecting the interest of both parties involved — farmers and consumers.

The day before in the morning, earlier in the day, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) that offers milk and other milk products under the brand name ‘Amul’, also announced an increase in milk prices by 2 rupees per litre starting the 17th of August.
