Telugu actress Krithi Shetty made her industry debut in 2021 through the successful romantic drama “Uppena.” This film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, featured Vaisshnav Tej as the lead and renowned actor Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist.“Uppena” garnered praise from audiences and critics alike and has now received the 69th National Film Award for Best Telugu Film.

Krithi Shetty shared her thoughts on the film’s achievement in an exclusive interview.

She expressed gratitude for the lessons and blessings she’s received throughout her journey in the industry.She also congratulated her fellow Uppena team members for the notable win.

The story of “Uppena,” set in 2002, revolves around an unusual love tale between Aasirvadham (Aasi), a young Dalit Christian man, and Sangeetha (Bebamma), the daughter of a powerful Zamindar named Raayanam.Vaisshnav Tej portrayed Aasi, while Krithi Shetty played Bebamma, and Vijay Sethupathi took on the role of Raayanam.

The movie boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Sai Chand, Mamilla Shailaja Priya, Gayatri Jayaraman, and others in supporting roles.The music and score were composed by Devi Sri Prasad.“Uppena” was jointly produced by director Sukumar’s production house, Sukumar Writings, and Mythri Movie Makers.
