New Delhi, November 18th : .The Pakistani government brought in a group of lobbyists at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck to represent their interests in Washington, Politico reported.
According to the report, Brownstein’s monthly contract with Pakistani Embassy amounts to $100,000.He will be paid quarterly.
The Politico reported that Pakistan continues to interact with the US, Russia, and China following the withdrawal of US troops in Afghanistan.
The extended troika consisting of representatives from these countries met in Islamabad last week to discuss the “severe humanitarian, economic and political situation” in Afghanistan.
On the sidelines, the extended Troika met with Taliban leaders.They called for “unhindered humanitarian acces” by the Taliban and demanded the restoration of women’s rights.
Lara Day, Brownstein’s spokesperson, stated that she will continue to work with the US to build stronger bilateral relations between Pakistan and the US following withdrawal.She claimed this was essential to maintaining regional stability and peace, counterterrorism efforts and economic growth.
Day also noted that Pakistan was “at the crossroads between Iran and China,” making it strategic important for both the US partners and European ones, the report said.
