New Delhi, Aug 11 : Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) developer Krafton on Thursday announced that it is working closely with authorities in India.Indian authorities following the suspension of its most-played Battle Royale game with over 100 million players in the country.
Kraft’s CFO Bae Dong-geun, during the company’s quarterly earnings conference said that the company is respectful of and understands Indian government’s concerns.

“We have been operating the service on stringent standards for data security and monitoring.

We will work closely with authorities to discover ways for customers in India to continue to enjoy BGMI,” Dong-geun said.

After the government issued an order to Google and Apple to end BGMI and other gaming companies, a few sent an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting for fair treatment to promote the gaming industry in India.

“In the second quarter of the year, we expanded our users’ base by establishing our own offline collaborations in the local market and expanded the monetized content offerings, offering an experience in battle royale that is unique to BGMI,” Dong-geun further stated.

In the initial six months of the year Krafton has seen its profits rise to $727.7 million, while net income increased by $337.6 million.

In the last month, the government had ordered Google as well as Apple to remove the BGMI gaming app on their respective websites in accordance with Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The ban of BGMI which is the Indian version of PUBG was the cause in an elite e-sports event being delayed due to reports of there was a “China connection” that was the reason for the ban.

Esports Premier League (ESPL) Season 2 was delayed due to the ban that was imposed last week.
