Jammu’s Mata Vaishno Devi, (Ld), PM Monitoring Situation

Srinagar : Prime Minister NarendraModi has been monitoring the situation after a stampede at Mata Vaishno Devi, Katra, Jammu and has sent his condolences to bereaved families.

"Prime Minister @narendramodi personally monitors and keeps track of tragic circumstances arising from stampede at Mata#VaishnoDevi shrine.

Jitendra Singh tweets that the Prime Minister had expressed his sympathy to grieving families and given instructions for providing medical assistance and support to those injured.Officials confirmed the deaths of 12 pilgrims and injuries to 14 more during a jammu stampede at Katra.

It happened at the Bhavan, where there was an enormous rush of pilgrims to celebrate the New Year.For now, the yatra is stopped.The hospital has moved the injured.

Every day, thousands flock to Katra for Vaishno Devi Yatra.The Navratras are a time when pilgrims flock to Katra in large numbers.
