New Delhi, Nov 21, : .Pistol-shooting twins Vijayveer Sindhu and Udayveer Sinhu from Punjab led their country to an early lead in medals tables when they won silver and gold in Sunday’s junior men’s 25m pistol events at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range.
Vijayveer won by one point with 587, beating Udayveer.Shiva Narwal from Haryana came third in the field of 190 players with 582.
The team competition was won by Punjab, which also included Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu (577) and Fatehjeet Singh (571), who combined to score 1717.This is better than Haryana’s 1715.
The event awarded Delhi a bronze medal.
Haryana won the only gold medal of the day in the team competition for the “Civilian” junior men’s 25m pistol.
Abhimanyu Yadav and Sameer turned the tables on Team Punjab 1714-1704.Madhya Pradesh won the bronze while Jagvijay Sekhon was with Fatehjeet & Amanpreet.
In fact MP won fourth place with Udit Joshi winning the junior men’s pistol event.His score was 575.Abhimanyu Yadav was unable to win two inner 10s, his second and final medals of the day.Tamil Nadu’s A.Mahesh Pasupathy took bronze with 574.
