Tehran, November 20, : , Iran’s Foreign Ministry has asked the UN Nuclear Watchdog to refrain from any “political behavior” regarding its technical mission.According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry website, “The Islamic Republic of Iran as a responsible member of International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) has always stressed that the IAEA as a technical, specialized body of UN must be free of any political conduct.”
According to Xinhua, the Iranian spokesman made the remarks in response to Anne-Claire Legendre’s recent comments.Legendre stated that IAEA’s governing body must “strongly message Iran” during next week’s meeting.Legendre’s recent statement that they could not get to an Iranian nuclear site despite being able to access it, was a reaction to recent statements by Anne-Claire Legendre.
Khatibzadeh said that any action by officials or political institutions from different countries in an attempt to influence the IAEA behavior is considered damage to its technical and professional standing.
“Without a doubt, the instrumental use of IAEA capacities will put into doubt the international legitimacy IAEA.”He said, “Actions.”
