Gurugram 1st, September : A man aged 52 was killed in the open at Gurudwara Road in Gurugram on Thursday by unknown attackers.The victim, who was an ex-vice chairman of Sohna Market Committee, was identified as Sukhbir Singh a.k.a.Sukhi, and a person who was a resident of Rithoj village in Gurugram.
Although he was admitted to an unnamed hospital in Gurugram shortly after he was shot, he succumbed to the injuries.
Son Anurag is claiming that the victim’s brother-in law Chaman of having been involved in the alleged crime.
Anurag claimed in his police report that his father was married twice and that there was a dispute between Sukhbir and Chaman – Chaman, the brother of his second wifeover the past few days.
“I believe that Chaman and his accomplices killed my father because of a fight.My father was killed on Thursday.been to Gurugram market to purchase clothes for him together with my uncle Rajender Patwari,” Anurag told the police.
“My uncle told me that four people had shot my father in the Raymond store.He was taken to the hospital in critically ill condition.
My father was killed because of bullet wounds to his chest and head.I believe that Chaman and his accomplices have killed my father, and that severe action was to be taken against them.” he told the police.
The whole incident was recorded in the CCTV cameras that were installed both inside and outside the shop.
In one of the videos three gunmen can be seen fleeing from the area while holding pistols in their hands.
As per reports, Sukhbir became the Vice President of the Sohna Market Committee in 2009.
He was planning to contest the election of Zilla Parishad Ward 2 Councillor.Ward 2.
The victim also ran for the election, but was unsuccessful.He was in close contact with BJP leaders.
An initial investigation found that Sukhbir went to Raymond’s showroom, which is located in Gurudwara Road to buy clothes at around 3.30 p.m.on Thursday, when three to five unidentified miscreants confronted him and fired at his within the showroom.
The attackers fired between five and eight rounds of bullets at Sukhbir and then fled the scene.
“We are still trying to determine the motive of the incident.
We are looking through the CCTV footage of the areas around to determine the identity of the suspects,” DCP Deepak Saharan said to IANS.
“The investigation is ongoing from every angle, including personal enmity as well as dispute over business matters,” said the police officer.
Based on a report filed by the son of the deceased An FIR in accordance with relevant provisions of the IPC including the Arms Act has been registered at the Civil Lines police station of Gurugram.
