Nara Bhuvaneswari, the wife of incarcerated former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, has expressed strong discontent at the police’s refusal to permit TDP supporters who wished to meet her.
In a pointed tweet, she asserted that the police were obstructing the Chalo Solidarity march by TDP cadre and their intention to pay her a visit.
In her words, “Does the government hold the authority to prohibit individuals from meeting me? They sought to convene with me to demonstrate their support and coordinate a Sanghibhava Yatra. Why is it objectionable for TDP workers to connect with their ‘mother’ (Bhuvaneswari)? And why did the police serve them notices? By what right does the government hinder people and TDP members from seeing their troubled mother?”
She accompanied her statement with an image of the notice issued by the sub-inspector of Ghantasala police station.
Meanwhile, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu is actively seeking the annulment of the FIR filed by AP CID in connection with the alleged Rs.371 crore Skill Development Scam.He argues that the police neglected to obtain the requisite authorization from the Governor, as stipulated by the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.
Given that Naidu held the position of Chief Minister during the purported misconduct related to the skill development scandal, the rightful authority would have been the Governor of the state.
