New Delhi, Aug 7 : Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will inaugurate on Sunday Akasa Air’s inaugural commercial flight, which operates on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight.
The previous day, on the 22nd of July the newest airline in India, Akasa Air announced on Friday that it would open tickets for booking its very first commercial flights with an initial network in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kochi.

In the beginning, Akasa Air, whose airline code is QP, will start its operations with 28 weekly flights a week between Mumbai and Ahmedabad beginning on August 7 2022.

In the earlier months, in July this year the Ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s airline was awarded the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the civil aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Akasa Air would fly between Mumbai to Ahmedabad on August 7, its first day of operation.It would later extend the routes to Bengaluru Kochi (August 12 from then onwards) Bengaluru-Mumbai (August 19 onwards) Bengaluru-Ahmedabad (August 23 and onwards).

Akasa’s strategy for network expansion is to connect cities in the metro area with smaller towns throughout India.The network will be expanded in the order of phases and connect cities further as the airline plans to add two planes each month in the first year.
