Isha Talwar, an actress who gained recognition for her role in Mirzapur season two, has advised patience as a crucial trait to succeed in the film industry.Despite the show’s popularity, Isha revealed that she had no work offers for a year after it ended.
She has been in the industry for over a decade and played Madhuri Yadav in Mirzapur, but was struggling to find solid work.However, she eventually landed a role in her latest Disney Plus Hotstar series, Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo.
Isha spoke to a news media about how her life changed after Mirzapur.The actress stated that it took her a decade to get a role in the popular show ‘Mirzapur’, and after the success of the show, she had to wait for a year before landing a part in the series ‘Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo’, which is directed by Homi Adajania and features Dimple Kapadia as the leader of a drug cartel.
She advises others to be patient while waiting for opportunities in the industry.Isha plays one of Savitri’s daughters-in-law, alongside Radhika Madan and Angira Dhar.
Isha explained that, after Mirzapur, she had made a conscious decision not to audition, as she had been doing it for ten years.Every casting director in the city has around 500 tapes of her auditions, she revealed.
However, she did audition for the role in Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo, as Homi insisted.Isha texted him to ask if he could watch some scenes from Mirzapur instead of auditioning, but he said no.
According to Isha, she auditioned for the role and was immediately drawn to it when she saw the material.She praised the show’s script, stating that it is uncommon to find such good writing and that it took some time for the doors to open for such quality content in the industry.However, she noted that the emergence of OTT platforms has provided new opportunities for such projects.
Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo also features Naseeruddin Shah, Ashish Verma, Varun Mitra, Udit Arora, Deepak Dobriyal, Monica Dogra, and Jimit Trivedi.The show will be available to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar from May 5.
