Harare 23rd August : Zimbabwe on Tuesday announced a 15-member squad for the ODI series with Australia with fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani back after he was able to recover from a muscle tear in his thigh which forced the player off of playing for a few days.The three-match ODI series which starts on Sunday is Zimbabwe’s first trip Down Under since 2003-04.
Muzarabani was the sole new player in the side that played India last week at home in the ODIs.Regis Chakabva will continue to take the helm in the absence of regular skipper Craig Ervine, who is recovering from an injury to his hamstring.
Tendai Chatara, who suffers from a fractured collarbone, Wellington Masakadza, who injured his shoulder tendon , and Milton Shumba, who has a quadricep strain, are not present.
The ODI series is a part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League that will serve as a means of qualifying for the Cricket World Cup 2023 to be played in India.
The top seven teams, as well as the hosts, India, will gain direct qualification through the 13-team competition.
