CPI (M) Extends Support To Amaravati Farmers’ ‘Nyayasthanam To Devasthanam’ Rally

The CPI (M) supports the Amravati Farmers’ ‘Maha Padayatra’, said CPI party state Secretary K Ramakrishna.He said that the Farmers of Amravati had embarked on a Maha Padayatra named ‘Nyayasthanam to Devasthanam’ from November 1 to December 17.

Already, several development projects worth about Rs 10,000 crore have been undertaken in the Amravati region.He criticized the state government for ignoring the Amaravati farmer’s Maha Padayatra.

Despite the long-running Amravati Farmers’ movement, the Andhra Pradesh state govt never responded to their pleas.

The Farmers have already submitted a petition to DGP Gautam Sawang seeking permission for the walkathon from November 1.However, the DGP did not respond and the Farmers filed a petition in the high court.

However, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed the DGP to announce his decision before October 28 on the permission for Amaravati Farmers’ padayatra.

The High Court directed the DGP to inform them of the decision taken in the issue of allowing the Farmers’ ‘Nyayasthanam to Devasthanam’ walkathon.

CPI state Secretary K Ramakrishna demanded that Amravati be declared the capital of Andhra Pradesh rather than three capitals.
