New Delhi, Sep 1 : The Delhi Assembly on Thursday passed the motion of confidence’, which was proposed by the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal following accusations that the BJP tried to overthrow the AAP government. There was no opposition to the motion since the majority of BJP MLAs were absent from House.
Three of BJP MLAs were escorted out of the Assembly for the duration of the session following a dispute with the Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla, who did not think about their request to give their attention notices prior to a discussion on the motion of no-confidence.
The remainder of the MLAs of the party left of the House shortly after.
“We presented an assurance motion today to show that Operation Lotus has failed. There is no evidence that any of our MLAs has changed side,” Kejriwal said while speaking at the meeting.
In a scathing attack on the saffron-colored party, he declared: “The BJP is investigating every spot in which the AAP has done an excellent job.Following Manish Sisodia’s arrest, I believe our voter turnout will rise.”
He stated that “AAP’s vote share has increased by 4 percent in Gujarat after the police raid against Manish Sisodia. It could rise to 6 percent when Sisodia is arrested”.
“A total of 69 cases have been filed against 49 of our MLAs, of which 35 are in the process of being resolved.16 cases were filed against me.I was cleared in 12 instances.13 cases were filed against Manish and I was cleared in 10 instances.4 cases were filed against Satyendaa Jain, and she was cleared in two of them,” the Chief Minister declared.
Fake case has been brought against Sisodia the Chief Minister said in a statement, adding that he was pleased with the investigation, but did not make threats with defamation cases.
CBI raided Sisodia’s house and also visited his village. They also searched his bank’s locker, but did not find anything, Kejriwal said.
