New Delhi, Aug 30 : With the aim to offer a seamless experience to pensioners of the government and to provide seamless service to pensioners, the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare has developed an integrated Pensioners’ Portal to facilitate the “Ease of Living” of pensioners.

Srinivas, Secretary of the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare (DoPPW) stated that the department is working on an AI/ML-enabled integrated portal, which will connect the DoPPW pension portals of banks and creating of chat bots to facilitate seamless interactions between pensioners, the government and bankers.
The officer stated the department was putting in place an IT team to work on developing digital platforms as one of the initial deliveryables in cooperation with PNB and with other banks.
To improve the “Ease of Living” of pensioners and their families, the department has implemented various of social steps in pension policy, as well as in the digitization of pension-related processes.
Since the main Pension Disbursing Authorities are banks, DoPPW has started a series of awareness programs to central pension processing centers and field staff who handle pension-related work in the banks.
The aim of these programs is to increase information of the different rules and procedures for the distribution of pensions to Central government pensioners, and also to inform field personnel on the changes that happen every now and then through various changes in the policies and procedures.
The goal of the course is to comprehend the issues that bank officials face in managing these processes as well as pensioners grievances.
Digital life certificates and facial authentication technology will be an exciting change for banks and pensioners in the submission of life certificates.
These awareness programs would be a massive training exercise for bank employees.
