“At no location in the country has there been elections organized at any level of the organization.

The hand-picked lieutenants of the AICC have been forced to sign on lists compiled by the group which manages the AICC sitting in 24 Akbar Road,” he stated.

Azad Azad in his letter to Sonia Gandhi that at no location in the booth district, block or even the state was an electoral register released and nominations accepted scrutinized, polling booths are set up and elections are held , and that the AICC leadership was firmly responsible for committing a huge fraud on the party in order to maintain its hold on the ruin of the once national movement which fought for and achieved the Independence of India.

“Does the Indian National Congress deserve this in the 75th year of India’s Independence is a question the AICC leadership should ask themselves,” he said

In the same way, current BJP spokesperson and former Maharashtra Congress secretary Shahzad Poonawalla in 2017 had criticized the procedure used to choose the party’s president, and claimed that the process was “rigged”.

Poonawalla claimed that it was an “selection method” and an “sham” of an election procedure.

At the time he planned to run in the election, but Congress had stated that he was not an PCC delegate, which is required to run in the election.

“I can’t contest a rigged election.

If the election system is legitimate and I am able to contest, then I will. This is a fraudulent election.it is an actual selection. The delegates who will vote in this election haven’t been elected in accordance with the constitution’s requirements.

They have been selected by hand,” he had told IANS at the time.
