New Delhi, Aug 21 : National Conference vice president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday questioned the reason Congress is insisting on Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s resignation. He also emphasized the party’s “contradictory position on the issue of the investigation agencies are concerned”. “How do I accomplish this? When CBI/ED/NIA etc.are pursuing Congress leaders, these agencies are considered to be the most discredited representatives of the BJP but when AAP leaders are targeted, suddenly, the credibility of the agencies is restored. How can these agencies be both credible and denigrated at the same?” he tweeted.
Abdullah in a further response to a tweet posted on his account Abdullah, in a tweet on his handle, said: “My limited point was about Congress in its contradictory positions as far as the agencies that investigate are concerned.”
The previous Sunday earlier on Sunday, earlier on Sunday, Congress called for the resignation of Manish Sisodia in the wake of CBI raids on the CBI.
At a press conference Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate stated: “The AAP should stop absconding behind the debate over education policy. The issue at hand is the policy on liquor and how Delhi has been transformed into the capital of liquor of the country.”
She said that the investigation agencies were abused by the BJP in such a way that even their proper decision, like in the case of liquor scam, appears to be like a snitch.
Delhi Congress leader Alka Lamba asked why AAP supporters weren’t protesting in solidarity with Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain If they had clean.
